What God is doing...
We have FINALLY found our Area Director for Young Life Hardin County! This has been a consistent prayer request for the last 16 months in a new area that has been fully funded and ready to start since April of last year, but we haven’t found the right candidate until now. They will be starting in December and we couldn’t be more excited – thanks for praying for this!!
Praise for another new area officially launched – Marshall County in Western Kentucky. Our Area Director will start September 1st and we already have incredible traction with kids in the community.
Praise for the 861 kids who attended camp this summer with their Young Life leaders and the 168 who gave their lives to Christ.
Praise for our first WyldLife (Middle School) club in Oldham County!
Please pray...
Please continue to pray for our developing conversations in Eastern Kentucky. We have a great committee and have secured about 60% of our funding to get started. We are super pumped about getting our first Young Life area off the ground in the mountains. We have a great candidate ready who will serve as our Area Director, a strong group of folks on the committee, and a few great churches partnering with us, but are struggling with fundraising. 13 of the 50 poorest counties in the U.S. are in Kentucky, 11 of which are in Eastern, KY. Please pray for the Lord’s provision here!
Please continue to pray for our staff transition in Madison County as our new Area Director has hit the ground running this fall. Our main focus is currently volunteer recruitment, development, and training to equip and send out leaders to our local middle and high schools.
As always, continue to pray for opportunities to expand Young Life’s impact into new communities and schools all over Kentucky – for the Lord to raise up adults who love Jesus and care about kids, committee members, donors, and volunteers to reach more kids in more places! We currently have early conversations happening and potential leads in Somerset/Pulaski County, Adair County, Jessamine County, and Simpson County.
