Healing Hearts Ministries

Thanks for fasting and praying!
  • Last Spring, a father/son discipleship group of 3 dads and 3 sons from GFC completed The Fight of Your Life: Living for God’s Glory Bible study for young men. Here are what the father, Dan, and his son, Devin, had to say regarding the study: “This Bible study with my son was the most amazing period of growth in my Christian life! We covered many difficult subjects—sexuality, drugs and alcohol, suicide, and many more—things I never would have brought up with my son on my own. My son and I grew closer to God and to each other. Now I truly understand just how closely Jesus walks with us in our daily lives. I feel blessed to have had this opportunity with my son.” “Going through this Bible study, I learned so much about living the Christian life. The thing that stood out to me the most was the teaching about sacrificial serving. Before doing this study, I focused way too much on my own comfort. Through the study, I came to realize just how selfish I had been, especially as a son. I was not glorifying God by focusing on myself. I know now how important it is to sacrifice my own comfort in order to serve my parents and others. By doing this, I am glorifying God. Whenever I struggle with this concept, I remember how much Jesus sacrificed for me.” Please pray that God would use our youth resources to “turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers.” (See Mal. 4:6)
  • We also praise God for a rare opportunity we had to partner with a high school teacher who works at an inner-city school in Detroit and does an after-school Bible club. She used our youth materials with her students, their parents, and other teachers. These materials were gifted by generous donors. She will be using the youth Bible studies again this year when the Bible club resumes in October. Please pray for these students, teachers, and parents! Healing Hearts is also seeking donations so that other at-risk youth programs can be gifted our materials. It takes approximately $30 to serve a student and their parent or mentor. If you would like to donate, you can do so on the “give” button above.

  • One particular verse that we have witnessed in action through our ministry is Psalm 107:20. Some of our clients come to know Jesus through our ministry and others are believers who have been dwelling in deep despair for years. We minister the hope of the gospel and the truths from God’s Word to the brokenhearted. In Christ, they find rescue and rest for their souls. Please pray Psalm 107:20 with us, especially for our post-abortive clients as well as those suffering from abuse and abandonment. “He sent out His Word and healed them; He rescued them from the grave.”

  • We thank God for our volunteers in this ministry! Without them, we truly could not operate. We are especially thankful for a previous client who is volunteering her computer programming skills to help our staff with our complex website counseling programming. If you have graphic design, videography/photography, publishing layout in InDesign, editing, or computer programming skills and would like to donate your time to serve this ministry, we would love to talk with you! Please shoot us an email at the “email” button above.

If you have an abortion in your past, please reach out to us. We would love to come alongside you to help you find healing in Christ. We also need your help in reaching those who are still suffering in silence in our church. If you are not post-abortive, we pray that you would be sensitive and gentle in your conversations on this topic whether through social media, small group meetings, or hallway conversations. You may not realize those hearing your comments may have an abortion in their past and are overwhelmed with fear and shame. Pray that the GFC family will have a grace-filled stance on this issue while lovingly holding to the truth.

Matthew 9:36-38 “But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.'”
