Groups Vision

Every person at Grace Fellowship has significant Christian relationships that lead to Christlikeness.

Essential Focus

The Director of Groups provides effective leadership, and support for church-wide, groups-based discipleship, including Community Groups, Care Groups, and Servant Leadership Development Groups.


  1. Provide effective overall leadership and execution of the Community Group and Care Group ministry.
  2. Expand the number of groups and the number of people participating so that more GFC people benefit from groups-based discipleship.
  3. We are recruiting new (and future) group leaders and hosts in cooperation with the Campus Pastors.
  4. Developing and equipping new leaders to ensure effective groups and alignment with the vision.
  5. Ongoing equipping (as appropriate) of existing leaders to ensure effectiveness and alignment with the vision.
  6. Care and encouragement for group leaders in conjunction with coaches and Campus Pastors.
  7. Develop best practices and solutions for practical issues such as childcare and hosting.
  8. Oversight of ministry processes, attendance, and website.
  9. Analyzing group data for insights into the strengths and needs of individual groups and the ministry overall.
  10. Help resolve issues within groups as needed.
  11. Provide oversight and execution of the Core Doctrines video series.
  12. Develop and coordinate weekly sermon discussion questions.
  13. Provide oversight and execution of the new Servant Leadership Development program.
  14. Develop and meet an annual ministry budget.
  15. Work in conjunction with the Biblical Counseling ministry to determine the best mode of care for people struggling with sin or suffering in groups.


  1. Give testimony and life witness of being a committed believer in Jesus Christ and spiritual gifts relevant to leadership of this ministry (leadership, shepherding, and administration).
  2. Possess strong leadership, organizational and communication skills.
  3. Proven track record of faithfully leading and growing a ministry, church or parachurch ministry, and/or similar marketplace experience.
  4. Have a passion for seeing people growing as disciples in groups.
  5. Have a sound knowledge of Scripture and an ability to effectively apply Scriptural principles in all areas of ministry.
  6. Be proficient in administration, able to plan, strategize, organize and effectively delegate, so projects, events, and programs are completed with excellence.
  7. Willing to pursue and complete ACBC Certification within 5 years of date of hire.


  1. Must be a team player, able to work on teams of various sizes and types (full-time staff, part-time staff, and volunteers).
  2. Must be a self-starter, able to define the work that needs to be done and complete it without close supervision.
  3. Must be personable and enthusiastic for local church ministry within a multi-site context that utilizes video preaching on a regular basis.
  4. Must be able to build trusting, valuable working friendships.
  5. Must be able to engage in appropriate humor.
  6. Must demonstrate humility by considering others more important (Phil. 2:1-4ff).


  1. Be a stable, mature and growing Christian, demonstrating a continual transforming character toward Christlikeness, with an exemplary personal, marital and family life.
  2. Demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit identified in Gal. 5:22-23: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
  3. When working with others you would be known as a peacemaker (Matt 5:9).
  4. Do all work abiding in Christ (John 15:5), knowing all our guidance, provision, capability and strength come from Him.

Wages, Benefits, and Miscellaneous

  1. Salary will be commensurate with responsibilities and experience.
  2. Includes GFC full-time benefits package (paid holidays and vacation, professional expense account, sabbatical qualification, medical/dental insurance, 403(b) w/ ER match, and more)
  3. This position reports to Pastor Todd Richmond and is part of the Central Ministries Team.
