Life Story

I spent my childhood in the Midwest (Illinois, Wisconsin, and Kentucky) and Europe.  My dad was a pastor and in 2002 we moved to the Czech Republic to be missionaries. While in Europe, I attended school at Black Forest Academy in Germany for 10th-12th grade.  It’s there that I met my wife, Tabitha.

Growing up in a Christian home can make it hard to determine exactly when my faith became my own.  I believe I was saved around the 4th or 5th grade, evidenced by repentance and trusting Christ. One thing that I remember was an increased desire to read God’s Word. My journey since then has been one where the Lord continues to teach me about Himself, myself, and how much I still need him!

When my parents were serving as missionaries in the Czech Republic, GFC would send teams to work with us as we ministered the Czech people. I met many people from GFC who genuinely loved God and His Word in a way that I had not seen before. So when I graduated high school I decided the best thing I could do would be to plug into a good church and find a college near it. So in 2005, I hopped on a plane in Prague and landed in NKY.

I’ve been working at GFC since 2012. I love serving at a church that is FULL of people who love Jesus and love people really well! I love that God’s Word is important not just to the church leaders but also to those within the congregation.

Tabitha and I were married in 2007 and we have 6 awesome kids who keep life crazy and fun. I LOVE sports – playing, watching… it doesn’t matter. Soccer is my favorite, but I really enjoy many different sports. I also enjoy reading… especially fiction. I grew up reading The Lord of The Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, and Harry Potter. You don’t want to know how many times I’ve read through them…

Hope for GFC

My hope for the GFC family is that our personal love for Jesus and what He’s done for us on the cross would lead us to live out our faith in every area of our life. I pray that we would all make it our aim to love Jesus, love people, and help others do the same!
